We're here to foster meaningful and respectful discussion, focussed on retro topics originating within the United Kingdom.
This forum is open to everyone who's interested in the UK's retro culture, whether you live in the UK, or a little further afield.
Community Guidelines
What Is Retro?
"Retro" means a lot of different things to different people. Here, we have a simple approach: if you consider it retro, it's retro enough for the forum. Please refrain from defining "retro" for others, and try to keep an open mind. Retro is the starting point of a discussion, not the discussion itself.
Be Respectful
The aim of this community is to be a valuable, collaborative hub of information and engaging conversation, with a bit of social history for good measure. Be excellent to each other, and remember that everyone here is a human as well.
To this end, gatekeeping will not be tolerated, nor will discrimination of any kind.
We would also take it as a kindness if you kept political discussion out of the forum as much as possible. This is meant to be a safe, fun space, after all.
Be Sensible
Keep in mind that this is a public forum. Everyone can read posts even if they're not registered. Try not to share anything you wouldn't say out loud in a public space.
Don't share any personally identifiable information (PII), even if it's your own information, and especially if it's somebody else's.
Self-promotion is fine, but please try to keep it to a minimum. Posting about your YouTube channel or Twitch stream is okay, but we don't need a new post every time you go live. Ideally, please use your signature for any social links you want to promote.
Use the search function! It's possible someone else has already started the same discussion you're about to - perhaps you can add to an existing topic rather than creating a new one.
Be Diverse
UK Retro Online welcomes everyone, no matter what your background is, as long as you're accepting of individuals from other backgrounds, too. Everyone is entitled to talk about retro stuff online.
If you have a problem with this, please don't bother signing up.
Anyone found not following these guidelines will be given a warning; repeated infractions will incur a ban.
