Gameboy Respray

I own just one retro piece of hardware, a Gameboy Pocket.
Trouble is, it has a transparent case, which i do not like.

I was thinking of respraying it to the Nintendo cream colour, what do you think? will the retro gods smite me, will Retro collectors hate me?

Transparent cases are peak 90's though Why wouldn't you want to see absolutely everything going on in there?
